🍁 Canada's July 2024 Unemployment Rate: Unchanged at 6.4%, but 2,800 jobs were lost in July!

Job Number Changes:

• Public Sector

+40,800 ⬆️ Monthly & +204,600 ⬆️ Yearly

• Private Sector

-41,900 ⬇️ Monthly & +86,000 ⬆️ Yearly

• Self-Employed

-1,600 ⬇️ Monthly & +55,000 ⬆️ Yearly

59% of jobs created in the past 12 months were in the public sector!

🚨 Concerns rise as Canada's public employee percentage (including all levels of the governments) increases!

21.7% of all jobs in Canada are in the public sector, the highest in 30 years, excluding April & May 2020 (early pandemic months).

Meanwhile, as of Jan 2024, Canada’s public sector employment percentage was also higher than that in the UK and USA.
