Vermilion Credit Union was incorporated in 1943 as Vermilion Savings and Credit Union in Vermilion, Alberta. In 1996, after moving into a new building, the credit union adopted its current name. A branch in Mannville opened in 2003.

Today, Vermilion Credit Union serves members in Vermilion, Mannville, and nearby communities in east central Alberta. It offers personal, agricultural, and business banking, mortgages, loans, investments, wealth management, and related financial services.

Vermilion Credit Union operates as a member owned cooperative governed by directors elected by its members. It also has a Profit Sharing program for eligible members.
