Prairie Pride Credit Union was formed on January 1, 2001, through the amalgamation of Alida Credit Union, Gainsborough Credit Union, and Alameda Credit Union in southeastern Saskatchewan. The merger combined community credit unions serving small rural communities in the region.

Prairie Pride Credit Union operates as a member owned financial cooperative governed by directors elected by its members. Member deposits are fully guaranteed through Saskatchewan’s credit union deposit guarantee system.
