Northern Birch Credit Union is a credit union located in ON. It was founded in 2020 through the merger of Estonian and Latvian Credit Unions. It primarily serves Estonian and Latvian communities and Toronto.
Northern Birch Credit Union was formed on January 1, 2020, through the merger of Estonian Credit Union and Latvian Credit Union in Toronto. Both predecessor institutions had served their respective communities for decades following the arrival of Baltic refugees and immigrants in Canada after the Second World War.
The Northern Birch name refers to cultural references shared by Estonian and Latvian communities. Today, Northern Birch serves members in the Greater Toronto Area with personal and business banking, borrowing, mortgages, investments, and related financial services.
The credit union also has experience with cooperative and co ownership apartment mortgages.
