It was established by City of Kingston employees, including members of municipal police, fire, and public services. Over time, it grew through amalgamations with other workplace based credit unions, including Kingston General Hospital Employees Credit Union and Teamsters Credit Union.
In 1974, the credit union became an open bond community credit union, allowing membership to extend to residents and workers in the Kingston area.
Today, Kingston Community Credit Union serves the greater Kingston region with personal, business, and nonprofit banking services, including accounts, borrowing, mortgages, investments, and related financial advice.
